Not only are there several different races and classes to play, but you also have to choose from playing as a character who has an origin story, or as a completely custom character. Not only do they allow you to fully take control of the character’s backstory, but they also allow you to really bring the character that you want to play to life. Josh Hawkins SeptemWhen you first start up Divinity: Original Sin 2, and you’re creating your party, it can be a bit confusing. Why would you do this when there are characters with origin stories? Well, for many, RPGs are all about creating stories that fit characters that they design, and that’s why custom characters are such an important part of Divinity: Original Sin 2. This can lead to some people being scared of you, while others may be more trusting of you and your party.īut, if you don’t feel like you’re going to miss out on much from the origin story quests, then the option to create a fully custom character is always there. However, it has come to my attention that companion swapping is not a feature of this game and the party you fight dallis with is the party you play the entire game with. UI issues: -Character sheet menu is a little wonky if. Prior to this I spent a lot of time figuring out how I wanted to build and kit out each of the 6 godwoken, with the intention that I would swap companions out from time to time. There was a dev response saying there would be an option to create them but no further info and that was from December of last year. However Zlayer has confirmed that dismissing and re-recruiting companions will allow the party size limit to be removed. Custom Companions I had a question on whether you could create custom companions or just picked from characters you didn't pick. Note: On existing saves the mod works best without a full party / with no-one yet recruited. Another plus to running with a character that has an origin story is that sometimes, throughout the game, people will recognize who you are, and they will react accordingly. I have confirmed that all companions transfer over successfully into Act 2. But, there are a few quests that you’ll only be able to experience if you’re running with a character that has an origin story. Now, mind you, there aren’t many quests locked behind characters with origin stories.
